About the Artist

BurntDirtArt features the artwork of Rebecca C. Sorenson, a 1997 graduate of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. After Graduation, Rebecca stayed in Chicago, employed as the Assistant to the Registrar of The Field Museum’s Anthropology Department before returning to Wisconsin. Rebecca worked as an EBD then science teacher and theater assistant from 2001 for Racine Unified School District then Cedarburg High School. She is currently a studio artist creating figural pieces reflective of her work, celebrating human experiences and interactions in fired terracotta, plaster, pastel and textiles.

Rebecca lives with her family in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.
